Recently, CASCO won the bid of Phase I Project of Lanzhou Rail Transit Line 2, adding another line to CBTC family.
Line 2 is the second metro line in Lanzhou, which starts from Yuantaizi, Anning District in the west to Yanbei Road, Chengguan District in the east, with a total length of about 32km and 27 stations. The Phase I project (Dongfanghong Square - Yanbei Road) of the line is 9.06km long with 9 stations. Passenger transfer between Line 1 and Line 2 can be made at Dongfanghong Square Station or Wulipu Station.

Line 1 Phase I, equipped with CASCO's CBTC signaling system, was put into full operation on June 23, 2019, and has served as the first urban rail transit line in Lanzhou City and even Gansu Province, which is of great significance. 2 years later, CASCO and Lanzhou Metro made concerted efforts again on the construction of Line 2 Phase I, adding another traffic artery to the city that lies astride Yellow River.
Line 2 Phase I is the first weak current integration project of signal turnkey in China. CASCO will provide it with CBTC signaling system and take charge of the total integration and overall construction of the weak current system for the project as a whole, including signal, special communication, public security communication, passenger information, technical prevention, comprehensive monitoring, AFC and other specialties.
The turnkey solution of the weak current system intergration and construction, as an innovative metro construction model, can greatly simplify the process, significantly improve the communication efficiency between the construction units and each sub-system suppliers during the construction to strengthen the project management. Nevertheless, the model has presented higher demands on the overall strength of the total integration suppliers.
CASCO, as a leader in the rail transit industry, not only provides safe and reliable signaling solutions for urban rail transit, but also has accumulated profound experience in design and consultation, product development, testing and certification, system integration, project management, operation and maintenance, etc., making it capable of providing owners with high-quality and efficient "one-stop" services during the whole life cycle.
The Line 2 to be put into full operation in the future will directly connect two major transportation hubs, Lanzhou Railway Station and Bus Terminal, which can meet the demands for east-west travel better. At that time, Line 2 will, in connection with Line 1 will forge a ring-shaped operation covering Dongfanghong Square, Lanzhou Railway Station, Public transport V Company and Wulipu, to further expand the subway's coverage and add a powerful impetus to the urban development.
