Recently, China Urban Rail Transit Expert Forum sponsored by the Experts and Academic Committee of China Association of Metros was successfully held. At the event, CASCO's self-developed TACS system TRANAVI Qiji® won the "Annual Outstanding Innovation Award". Cui Ke, Chief Engineer of CASCO Research & Design Institute, was invited to attend the forum and communicated with hundreds of experts on hot topics in the industry such as overhaul and smart urban rail transit.

At the forum, Cui Ke participated in the expert forum and made a special report on "Signaling System Renovation Practices and Solutions".

Taking several domestic renovation projects by CASCO as example, he summarized several typical solutions and their applicability, such as "disturbance-free renovation", "like-for-like renovation", "upgrade and extension", and "inclusive renovation". He introduced the case of Shanghai Metro Line 2, the world's first case of signaling renovation based on "dual systems", as well as the critical technical points in the implementation of this largest signaling system renovation project in China.

As the metro lines built in the past have gradually entered an overhaul and renovation cycle, how to reduce the impact on normal operations while completing the improvement of system reliability and efficiency and achieving real "disturbance-free renovation" has now become a hot topic of concern in the industry. This special report provided reference for industry peers through a detailed analysis of the solutions and comprehensive data.

In the expert interview session, Cui Ke and other attending experts shared their insights on the development of smart urban rail transit around the topic of "Wisdom Makes Urban Rail Transit More Efficient", pointing out that the development of intelligence is not only applying AI algorithms such as deep learning, but also taking into account the operational reality to improve efficiency. Cui Ke gave a detailed introduction to the online coupling/uncoupling function of Shanghai Metro Line 16 and its effect on operation that the experts at the meeting were interested in, and presented an outlook on the future application of online coupling/uncoupling technique in the driverless mode.
