On March 21, the 5th China Green & Intelligent Rail Transit High-Quality Development Conference kicked off in Shaoxing, bringing together experts, enterprise representatives, and research institutions from across China's rail transit sector to explore technological breakthroughs and industrial upgrades in green and intelligent rail transit. CASCO, a leading enterprise in rail transit control systems, was invited to present its innovative achievements in the self-developed TRANAVI Qiji TACS (Train Autonomous Control System), attracting widespread industry attention.
During the morning plenary session, Ling Xiaoque, Manager of CASCO's Urban Rail Products and Solutions Department, delivered a keynote speech titled "Practice and Reflection of TACS Systems in Urban Rail Transit." He elaborated on the innovative technologies and application experiences of TRANAVI Qiji TACS from three dimensions: system development, technical features, and case studies.
Ling highlighted that adopting TACS for new lines and renovating existing lines has become a global trend, serving as a model for sustainable rail transit applications. He emphasized, "TRANAVI Qiji TACS not only offers the advantages of efficiency, flexibility, and economy, but also enhances safety by an order of magnitude compared to traditional CBTC system. In terms of resilience, the system enables seamless takeover by trackside cloud controllers during train degradation, allowing mixed operations of normal and degraded trains with a tracking interval of under 120 seconds."
As a new-generation high-performance train control system, TACS has gained industry recognition and emerged as a key driver for the transformation and upgrading of the urban rail transit sector. CASCO's forward-looking strategy and technical expertise have solidified its industry leadership. To date, CASCO has secured 4 out of 5 TACS lines tendered nationwide. From launching the world's first commercial TACS system on Shenzhen Metro Line 20 in 2021 to renovating signaling systems on Shanghai Metro Lines 3 and 4 and Wuhan Metro Line 1, CASCO continues to advance TACS innovation and application through benchmark projects, leading the industry to a new technological level.
